…The Psalmist…
David, the second King of Israel, the man of God’s heart. I didn’t really understand why David wins God’s heart. Until a while ago. That was when I purchased this Bible Audiobook. Since I am easily get bored and tired of reading thick books with small fonts, but at the same time I don’t want to lose the food supply for my soul, I bought this audiobook from iTunes store. So that I can listen to it from my iPod.
Surprisingly enough, the first time I listened to it, I went through around 15 chapters in 30 minutes; that’s the length of a bus trip from my place to the office. I am sure I would not manage to read those 15 chapters in 30 minutes from the text. But with this audiobook, I feel like flying.
Then, because of being able to go through one chapter to another quickly, I could see a pattern between the chapters. David, he is so human. He feels happy, lucky, grateful, but also sometimes he worries, being sad, disappointed, feel weak. But there is one thing, one signature of his. That he always brings what he feels to God. He tells God about his worries. He tells God about his hurts and emotional wounds. He tells God about his dissapointment. You know, in away it is like a girl telling story to her boyfriend. But to close out every complains he makes, David also tells God that he always trust Him. That he believes that God will liberate him. He tells God that he believes that God will bring goodness for him. That he trusts God completely.
It is beautiful to see that David is so human. He is being honest about himself to God. No make up. No mask. No reflective-glass between him and God. See through. He brings his “humaness” as an offering to God. And at the same time letting God to saturate him with His love.
